On Monday 23 February, 68 Level 1 Geography students went on a field trip to collect their own data and observations about the health of the Ashley River. Students carried out nitrate tests, measured water temperature, and made visual observations, along with other measurements at different points along the route. The students were very well behaved throughout the day. We walked along Waikuku Beach to the Ashley estuary, where some students discovered areas of sinking sand.

Back at school, students will now collate their data and combine it with other information to form their own conclusions about the health of the Ashley River.
