Shape the Future of Kaiapoi High – Board of Trustees Elections Coming Soon
Kia ora e te whānau,
Every few years, we are given an important opportunity to shape the direction of our kura. In
September, Kaiapoi High School will hold its triennial Board of Trustees elections, and
we’re looking for people who are passionate about our school, committed to positive change,
and ready to help guide us into the future.
Our Board plays a vital role in setting the strategic direction of the school, making key
decisions around student achievement, property, policies, and finances. This is a chance to
be part of a team that supports the continued growth of Kaiapoi High School and ensures
that every ākonga is given the best chance to succeed.
We are seeking candidates who:
● Have a growth mindset and a genuine care for the wider school community
● Are strategic thinkers who want to help shape the future of education in our district
● Are team players who can bring fresh perspectives and a strong sense of
commitment.
You don’t need to come with a specialist skillset. We’re looking for people who are motivated
to see the best for our community, and who are willing to learn and grow in the role.
Key Dates:
● Call for Nominations opens – Friday, 18 July
● Nominations close – 12 noon, Wednesday 6 August
Any adult can stand as a candidate in an election for parent representatives. You do not
need to be the parent of a student at the school, but you do need to be nominated by a
parent. So, whether you’re a current parent, former student, or someone who believes in the
power of education to transform lives, we encourage you to consider standing for election or
to encourage someone you believe would be a great representative.

sharing further details via email soon. In the meantime, if you’re curious about what’s
involved in being a trustee, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re happy to chat.
