We’re pleased to announce that the long-awaited Kaiapoi High School kilt is now available from our uniform supplier, The U Shop in Rangiora.
The kilt has been carefully designed to meet our school’s uniform expectations while providing students with a durable and stylish option for cooler weather. One important detail to note is the kilt’s length – it is specifically tailored to sit approximately 25cm above the ground. This helps prevent the hem from dragging, getting wet, or picking up mud. To make this easy to visualise, we’re using the handy reference of “A4 above the floor” – the longest side of an A4 page is a useful guide for the correct length.
Please be aware that kilts must not be altered to sit lower than this standard. This includes modifying the hem or intentionally purchasing an oversized kilt to increase its length.
Students are also reminded that non-uniform items, such as trousers (or pyjama pants), are not to be worn underneath the kilt. While this may seem like a practical choice in colder weather, it falls outside our uniform guidelines and detracts from the overall standard of dress.
We strongly encourage whānau to visit the uniform store with their student to try on the kilt before purchasing. This will help ensure the style, weight, warmth, and fit are right for them.
As always, we appreciate your support in upholding our school’s high expectations around dress and presentation.
Ngā mihi nui.
