The Hinekura Moana Whakaora (Hinekura Ocean Healing Programme) has started again this term, which is very exciting! This is a programme run through Surfwise at Waikuku Beach, and kindly funded by the Sport Canterbury Tū Manawa fund. The kaupapa for this programme is about connection to yourself, others, te taiao, and hauora, facilitated through learning to surf. We have 16 Māori and Pasifika hine who had their first session on the water on Thursday and were amazing! A big mihi to Tammi Martin and Avril from Surfwise and Grace from Sport Canterbury, who have helped make this all possible!
