Our Year 13 PE students recently had a fantastic trip to Flex Fitness in Kaiapoi! This outing was part of their “Back to the Future” assignment, where students are required to examine the physical activity they have done throughout their lives and then plan how they’ll keep active after leaving school.
The session at Flex Fitness was run by Bevan Bolger, who leads our school’s CACTUS programme. He challenged the class to a partner workout that was a mixture of cardio and weight-based movements. It was awesome to see how much effort the students put in and how they made the most of the opportunity to use a range of cool new equipment. Some even worked so hard they needed a quick dash to the bathroom – that’s how much they pushed themselves!
This trip was a great way for the Level 3 students to try out what is on offer in our community and think about strategies in order to stay fit for years to come. A massive thank you to Jo and Bevan at Flex Fitness Kaiapoi for having us!
