Monday 4th August, 5.30-6.45 pm Te Kōhiko (Cultural Learning Centre).
We will be holding an important whānau hui to discuss how our school can best meet the needs of our Māori ākonga and community. We are in the process of mapping out strategic points for improvement and direction for the next three years. This is an excellent opportunity to have your say and help positively influence the future experiences of Māori ākonga and whānau at Kaiapoi High School. Senior Māori students will be facilitating the evening. The main themes of the evening will be:
- Enhancing whānau-kura relationships
- Engaging ākonga in learning
- Building cultural identity
The following whakataukī emphasises the importance of working together to ensure the very best of our rangatahi ākonga:
“Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi“, which translates to “With your food basket, and my food basket, the people will thrive.”
Ngā mihi nunui
