Information Evening for caregivers and students of Years 9 & 10 – an emphasis on literacy and numeracy, on Tuesday 31st March 6.30-7.30pm, KHS Auditorium
New Zealand qualifications are changing. Year 10 students have the opportunity to be assessed and to pass the new co-requisite literacy and numeracy requirements for NCEA. We are planning for Year 9 students to enter a new qualification system at the start of 2028. The new qualification will have an emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Come along and listen to the key people leading this change and its impact on your child in Years 9 and 10.

NCEA Information Evening for caregivers and students of Year 11 on Wednesday 1st April 6.30-7.30pm in the KHS Auditorium
This evening is essential! The evening will highlight the structure of the NCEA qualification, including numeracy and literacy, and how this looks at KHS. It will also explain our helpful monitoring systems to support and promote ongoing student achievement. In addition, information will be provided about gaining subject and course Merit and Excellence endorsements, along with the importance of prerequisites for future Levels 2 and 3 NCEA pathways.
We hope to see a good turnout of Year 11 students and their caregivers there!
Nathan Sandes, Deputy Principal
