Keeping our young people safe in today’s digital world is an increasing challenge for many families. To support our community, Kaiapoi High School is pleased to host filmmaker, author and speaker Rob Cope, creator of the documentary Our Kids Online, for a practical and engaging parent evening.
Rob’s talk will explore the realities young people face online, including social media pressures, cyberbullying, gaming and brain development, online predators, pornography, and emerging risks such as AI deepfakes and algorithmic radicalisation. Most importantly, the evening will focus on practical strategies for families—such as effective filters, safer smartphone settings, healthy boundaries around device use, and how to have open conversations with your children about the online world.
