We are fortunate to currently have a group of students from Kurashiki Seiryo High School, one of our sister schools in Japan, visiting our school. This is the second year in a row they have visited our school and will be in New Zealand for 10 days.
Yesterday, our visitors from Kurashiki Seiryo High School and our partners from Japan had a wonderful tree planting experience here in North Canterbury. Many of these students had never planted a tree before due to where they live. Even though the weather certainly wasn’t ideal, everyone shared a big smile while participating in this meaningful community activity.
First and foremost, we would like to thank: the Waimakariri District Council, the Consular Office of Japan in Christchurch, and the Rewi Alley Foundation.
We also extend our gratitude to the following individuals for taking part:
District Mayor Dan Gordon
Councillors Brent Cairns, Philip Redmond, and Paul Williams
Consul Mr Ken Nakamura from the Consular Office of Japan in Christchurch.
