On 12th March, Kaiapoi High School reached a historic milestone by hosting its first-ever foreign embassy delegation. Led by Consul General Madam He, the visit from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Christchurch is a testament to our school’s growing reputation, values, and the recognized achievements of our students.
The “Young Diplomats in the School” programme allowed our students to hear firsthand accounts of life in international relations—from high school origins to choosing a career on the world stage. Consul General Madam He shared her vision for stronger educational ties between New Zealand and China, while our Principal, Mr Reid, emphasized the vital importance of fostering a “global citizen” mindset in every KHS student.
We hope that for the students who participated, this is just the beginning of their journey toward becoming the diplomats of tomorrow.
