This year’s Ngā Manu Kōrero speech competition was held at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College on Friday 19 June.

A massive congratulations to our speakers Eva Te Whetu (Junior English), Miah-Paige Peihopa (Junior Māori), Chloe Green (Senior English), and Kieran Gant-Cowan (Senior Māori) who took part in this year’s competition. They all did an amazing job, delivering their speeches with courage, personality, and passion. They spoke clearly, engaged the audience, and represented our school so well.

Also, a big thank you to all the tauira who came to tautoko our kaikōrero with mana and pride. We are so proud of everyone who took part. Standing up and speaking in front of a crowd is no easy task, and our students rose to the challenge. Ka mau te wehi!
