On Tuesday, the 19th of May, Rachael Craw came to visit the KHS Book Club. Rachael is a Christchurch-based author with many bestselling books, such as The Lost Saint and many other fantasy, romance, and sci-fi YA books. We read the book, The Lost Saint, during Book Club, so we were able to discuss the book with her. This was very insightful and gave us inside knowledge about what it was like every step of the writing process! We also had an opportunity to ask our burning questions about the book, and to understand what it was like inside her head as she came up with new ideas and what things inspired her.
Following this, we were fortunate enough to have a writing workshop with Rachael, where she assisted us in creating a short story, based on an old piece of Greek mythology about a man named Actaeon. This was really inspirational, and we all had a great time! We then shared our retellings in Book Club the following week.
