Sixteen Kaiapoi High School students took to the stage as the Kaiapoi High School Choir at the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday 5th June, to represent the School at The Big Sing Regional Choir Competition.
Performing Bella Ciao, Benedictus, and Pepeha, the choir delivered a confident and polished performance in one of Christchurch’s most prestigious performance venues. For many students, it was their first experience performing in such a formal setting.
The group’s hard work and dedication were recognised with the Outstanding Debut Performance Award, presented to a choir competing at The Big Sing for the first time.
We are incredibly proud of the students and the commitment they have shown throughout the year. They worked hard, supported one another, and represented Kaiapoi High School with pride. Performing at the Town Hall can be a daunting experience, but they rose to the occasion and delivered a fantastic performance.
The achievement marks an exciting milestone for the School’s music programme and highlights the growing strength of the performing arts at Kaiapoi High School.
Congratulations to all choir members on an outstanding debut performance.
