On Thursday 23rd April, a group of sixteen students went down to Woodend Beach, along the Tūtaepatu Track. There, they planted native trees and cleared dead plants and debris with Te Kōhaka o Tūhaitara Trust.
The students put in a couple of hours of hard mahi and left the local environment a little greener.
Participating in this activity was optional for students to opt in and complete, so a massive thank you to those 16 students who were keen to help out the local community by giving up some of their time. This will hopefully be an initiative we look at doing again later in the year.
